Supporting a home renovation through our Hayle facility
When Catherine and Christopher began the renovation of their new home on St Mary’s, they faced the challenge of coordinating furniture, fixtures and fittings from multiple mainland suppliers while living thousands of miles away.
Our Hayle facility provided a convenient mainland delivery and storage point, allowing goods to be received and prepared ahead of their onward journey to the Isles of Scilly.
With the property requiring complete renovation, the couple began managing the project from Niger, in Africa, working with their contractor and friends at Evergreen B&B on St Mary’s.
As the renovation progressed and it became time to furnish their new home, Catherine and Christopher began arranging deliveries of furniture, fixtures and fittings to our Hayle storage facility.
Catherine said: “Organising shipping seemed complicated at first but David and Tony at the Isles of Scilly Freight storage facility in Hayle patiently explained the process and advised on how to make sure our orders were safely delivered.
“When some vintage furniture arrived from a supplier without sufficient packaging, David ensured that additional packaging was added and that it was carefully loaded onto a pallet. For us, new to the business of shipping essentials of all sizes to the islands, it was reassuring to know that we could call and ask and there would always be a helpful response.
